Irene Radford is back in town Sun Hill officers are called to an incident at her house when a dead dog is found floating in her swimming pool which could possibly be something to do with another gangster family, the Gaunts. Inspector Gina Gold finds Irene a shell of a woman and Irene claims that she has returned to Sun Hill because she is terminally ill with cancer and wants to die there. Meanwhile acting DC Gary Best follows a lead about a robbery that could incriminate Irene but at the same time Irene's son David Radford is being transferred to a psychiatric wing following a break down.
